Everybody makes mistakes. At Raritan Bay FCU, we don't charge you an arm and a leg for doing so. We help you avoid the expenses and inconvenience of overdrafts on your checking account with three methods of protection: using your savings account, automatic overdraft advance, or a pre-approved line of credit.
Contact us today to find out more about how overdraft protection can save you from expensive fees!
The examples below demonstrate the methods of overdraft protection available to your RBFCU checking account.
If you make a purchase in the amount of $150 but you only have $100 in your checking account, the credit union will automatically transfer the funds from your primary share savings account into your checking to avoid the check/debit from being returned. With this option, each transfer is assessed a $10 fee.
If you make a purchase in the amount of $150 but only have $100 in your checking account, the credit union will deduct the money from your line of credit and deposit it into your checking to cover the check/debit. There is no charge for this option, however, you must fill out a loan application and be approved for the line of credit. Unpaid outstanding balances will incur interest.
If you make a purchase in the amount of $150 but only have $100 in your checking account, the credit union will cover the amount overdrawn on your account. The purchase will be paid for, thus avoiding any items being returned to you. RBFCU will charge a $30 fee for this Overdraft Advance.
PLEASE NOTE: ATM and one-time debit card transactions/purchases are not covered by Overdraft Advance unless you OPT-IN. View the OPT-IN Form.
